Social Security Disability
Social Security was established by President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Great
Depression in order to help needy people in difficult times. Disability benefits are available
to folks who are no longer capable of working, and will be unable to return to work for at least 12
months.
There are two possible ways to qualify for disability benefits depending upon your
work history. If you have worked less then 20 of the past 40 quarters you are eligible only for the minimum benefits of Supplemental Security Income (SSI). If you have
worked long enough to qualify, you are eligible for Social Security Disability (SSD). The
amount that you would receive would then be based on your recent past income.
You can start the application process yourself by calling the Social Security
Administration Office at 1-800-772-1213. The initial denial rate is very high, however, and we can
start the process for you. If they reject the application, I will request a hearing before an
Administrative Law Judge.
When I prepare for the hearing my firm will use its expertise in obtaining from your
medical care givers the information that Social Security needs, giving it to the Administration
in a form they understand, and preparing you for the hearing. I prepare a brief for each
case. This is how I help the disabled get the benefits they need.
My staff and I look forward to helping you. Call us now, or contact us via e-mail. If
you have already been denied, act quickly because you have only sixty days to appeal.
I want to give you new hope for your financial future.
